A Three-member delegation of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) called on the Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Salah-ud-Din Khan Mehsud at his office CPO Peshawar.
The delegation was led by Country Representative UNODC Pakistan Mr. Cesar Gaedes. The members of the delegation congratulated the IGP on assuming the charge of his new responsibilities. IGP KP informed the delegation that the KP Police has been focusing on capacity building of its work force to enable them to discharge their duties in a professional manner. In this connection 06 specialized schools have been established in the province. He proposed to the delegation to strengthen the capability of these schools. He also informed the delegates about the Special Combat Unit (SCU) raised by KP Police to deal with menace of terrorism.
On this occasion the Country Representative of UNODC Mr. Cesar Gaedes handed over 160 bullet proof jackets to the IGP for the KP police force and assured all technical support to the KP police for strengthening its capabilities.
